Winter by the lake
Lakeside chalet with a hot tub — winter in the Laurentians
A heritage Victorian cottage, fully renovated in 2025, set on the shore of White Rocks Lake in Grenville-sur-la-Rouge. In winter, the hot tub steams beneath the stars while the lake sleeps under the ice.
The four-season hot tub under a winter sky
The hot tub runs all year round. On a January night, hot water meets frozen air in ribbons of steam, the snow muffles every sound, and the Laurentian sky opens up above the lake. It is the kind of silence you only find on the water, in winter.
Frozen White Rocks Lake — snowshoeing, winter walks, silence
When the lake freezes, it becomes a vast white expanse to explore. Strap on the snowshoes, set out on a winter walk along the shore, or simply stand still and listen to the silence. The house sits right on the water; the lake begins where the dock ends.
The wood fireplace and the renovated interior
Back in from the cold, the wood-burning fireplace is waiting. The interior, fully renovated in 2025, keeps the soul of the original cottage while offering every modern comfort: a full kitchen, three bedrooms, and room for seven. Light the fire, settle in, and winter goes by more gently.
What a winter stay feels like
Just 1h15 from Montréal and Ottawa, about 20 minutes from Hawkesbury: far enough for the city to disappear, close enough to leave on a whim. The house sleeps seven — enough to gather family or friends for a long weekend beside a frozen lake.
