Things to Do Near Grenville-sur-la-Rouge

Maison Kilmar is both a retreat and a base camp. The lake is right there — quiet and private — for slow mornings and unplanned afternoons. But when the urge to explore hits, the surrounding area delivers.
In the village (5–10 min)
Dépanneur Kilmar — The village corner store. Groceries, liquor, gas, and the best local pizza. Essential for arrival supplies.
La Buona Stella — A café in a converted barbershop. Impeccable lattes, homemade plates. The kind of place you discover and wish you'd found sooner.
Fromage et Cie Casse-Croûte — Poutine with house-made cheese curds. Legendary hot dogs. The local snack bar doing simple things exceptionally well.

Propulsion Rafting & Canyon — 25 minutes. Rafting, zip-lining, kayaking. Another excellent option for outdoor adventures on the Rouge River.
Golf (15 min)
Golf Lac Carling — An 18-hole course in the heart of the Laurentians. One of the region's best courses, with wide-open views across the surrounding hills.

The Laurentians' flagship four-season resort. Alpine skiing in winter, mountain biking in summer, a lively pedestrian village year-round. 45 minutes from Maison Kilmar.
Hawkesbury (25 min)
Full shopping center for anything you forgot — pharmacy, large grocery store, hardware store.
All that said: Maison Kilmar is not isolated. But the lake is private. And it's usually where you end up spending most of your time — on the dock, in the rowboat, or simply watching the water at golden hour.
